Not only are there the emerging
property markets in Europe, like many of the countries
that have just joined the EU, but there are also
those countries that have had foreign nationals
buying there for many years but are not particularly
considered mainstream.
Whilst we generally don’t list property examples
available in these ‘other countries’,
we would be able to source property should you particularly
want to buy in one of the following:
Austria
A land of crisp mountain air, pine forests and
picturesque meadows. Austria has so much to offer,
from the musical city of Salzburg to the breathtaking
scenery of its mountains and valleys.
Switzerland
A dramatic scenic country with lakes, mountains
and an interesting history. The property market
is not the cheapest in the world but surprisingly
accessible to overseas buyers.
Russia
Property in Russia, especially Moscow itself is
becoming a feasible investment option; where values
in the past 5 years have increased dramatically.
Current real estate legislation and fiscal policy
also encourages long-term foreign real estate
investment. The law makes no distinction between
a Russian citizen and an expatriate buying real
estate. The proceeds of sale of any property,
which was owned by the same owner for five or
more years, are tax exempt and there may be good
rental returns.
Scandinavia
A region including the countries; Norway, Sweden,
Denmark and Finland, famous for their historic
cities, fjords and breathtaking scenery and diverse
cultures.
It is possible to buy property in these countries,
with surprising ease, where homes in the main
cities are most expensive, but country properties
are remarkably good value.
Holland
Famous for its waterways, tulips and much more,
Holland has many historical cities and towns.
The property market is similar to other Northern
European markets in that many people rent rather
than buy within the country, but real estate is
considered a good investment here. Areas such
as Amsterdam command high prices and good potential
rental return.
Corsica
The French island of Corsica is remarkably unspoilt
with a dramatic coastline and rugged interior.
It is possible to buy property here and we are
currently reviewing a leaseback development here
that should be live soon.
Poland
Property investors are increasingly looking towards
Central and Eastern Europe in order to achieve
higher profit margins than it is possible in traditional
places for investment; Poland is becoming a hot
spot for such investors. Our partners in Poland
offer a range of products, from small buy-to-let
transactions to multimillion development projects.
Apart from looking for and assisting in potential
deals, they can also take care of the management
side of development, sales, lettings and project
supervision.
Monaco
Monaco, bordering France on the Mediterranean
coast, is a popular resort, attracting tourists
to its casino and pleasant climate. In 2001, a
major construction project extended the pier used
by cruise ships in the main harbour. The state
has no income tax and low business taxes and thrives
as a tax haven both for individuals who have established
residence and for foreign companies that have
set up businesses and offices. The principality's
mild climate, splendid scenery, and gambling facilities
have made Monaco world famous as a tourist and
recreation centre and 2nd property location for
those that can afford it. We currently have a
number of apartments available for sale.
