Slovakia – Emerging market with beautiful scenery
Slovakia (officially called
the Slovak Republic) is a beautiful and exotic
country right at the heart of Europe. It borders
Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary.
The Carpathian Mountains cross the northern area
of the country; the famous High Tatras Mountains
provide excellent skiing.
The Danube River flows through
Slovakia, connecting it with Vienna. Slovakia
is famed for its mountainous terrain but is also
composed of fertile lowland areas in the southwest
and many forested areas, which are home to many
interesting wildlife including bears and wolves.
The capital city is Bratislava with a population
of approx. 500,000.
As with many European countries
Slovakia has a similar process when it comes to
buying a property there. As a new EU member the
property market of Slovakia is open to all other
citizens of EU. The only restriction Slovakia
has imposed is on agricultural and forestry land.
