PART 1: The beating heart of the medieval city
On the buildings of the village centre, each detail being part on an ensemble creates an enchanting haven of peace, thanks to subtle medieval architecture brought into the reigning-fashion: donjon, roofing details (pent-roofs, slopes), turrets, columns & façade works with its colour harmony, double corbelled construction, half-timbering 7 arcades. With its pedestrian streets paved in the old-fashioned away, flowery alleys & passage-ways under buildings, the borough is rhythmed with its medieval market in the square centre. The nine copper bells are played by Jacko-o’-the-clock with one of its 200 melodies. It evokes the church’s location at the centre of the village.
