Three of the 23 studios now have tenants in with the other studios set to be filled in September, ahead of the first semester of the 2013/2014 academic year.
The waterside refurbishment, which was launched in October 2012, was developed by Hamilton Black, following the success of St. Ann’s Lodge in Leeds and Nelson Square in Bolton, which they constructed in coalition with Knight Knox International.
Following its launch, this development quickly caught the eye of our investors who saw the boutique student development as an unmissable opportunity, forcing the development to quickly sell out!
With X1 Salford Quays phase I set for an early completion; Bard House and X1 Arndale House set to be finished on time, Knight Knox International are continuing to maintain their reputation of constructing and delivering developments on time or ahead of schedule.
Our Construction is Indicative of Nationwide Surge
The construction of developments such as Alexandra House is indicative of increased levels of construction throughout the UK as rates begin to pick up, following years of virtually no building.
Construction levels hit a 90 year low last December, as councils cut their home-building targets by more than 270,000 within the 2 years previous.
However construction rates seem to have turned the corner, according to the latest RICS Construction Market Survey, with 21% more surveyors reporting rises in workloads.
These respondents also predicted that the next year will be a boom year in terms of construction, with 59% predicting that workloads will continue to rise rather than fall over the next 12 months.
In conjunction with our partner developers we have brought a series of new-build developments to the market in recent years, including Dunfields, Chapel Street and X1 Salford Quays, as we continue to influence the market.
