These statistics released by the Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) show that Dubai is well on its way to achieve its Tourism Vision for 2020; a goal of receiving 20 million annual visitors in 2020, double the amount it currently receives.
Although tourists continue to be attracted to the city from all over the world, the three top countries where tourists visited from were Saudi Arabia, India and the UK.
With tourists staying an average length stay of 3.89 days, it is no surprise that hotel room occupancy rates were burgeoning in Dubai, hitting an average of 84.6% for H1 2013, up 2.8% on H1 2012, while hotel apartment occupancy rates averaged 85.5% up 6.5% on H1 2012. Total revenues for hoteliers and hotel operators also reached a grand total of AED 11.62 billion in the six month period, up 18.5% on H1 2012.
