From October the 3rd to the 5th A Place in the Sun Live took over the NEC in Birmingham. The whole event was one of Knight Knox’s most successful and busy of the year, as a massive 6,500 people flooded into the exhibition centre, looking to find the perfect property for their portfolios.
This year’s A Place in the Sun Live reached the same levels of popularity as the 2007 exhibition, pre- economic crash. It had a 30% higher attendance than the same show in 2013 and approximately 400 more people visited than March’s London show. Interestingly, there were 30 fewer stands than there were at London A Place in the Sun Live meaning exhibitors saw a notably higher amount of visitors.
Throughout the two day event Knight Knox International offered a range of both British and Florida developments to buy or invest in. With high rental yields in the regional locations of the UK, and a once-again budding Florida market, the Knight Knox stand was extremely popular. Plus the new and improved design also did its part in attracting visitors. This high quality and professional style was described as looking “fantastic” and certainly grabbed plenty of people’s attention as they made their way around the halls.
Overall, the whole of 2014’s ‘A Place in the Sun Live’ saw more grand stands across the board. The Managing Director, Andy Bridge, noted this improvement, saying, “Companies are looking to stand out. For the last few years, people have used the shell scheme. Now they’re spending money on stand-out designs”
A Place in the Sun Live is unique amongst property shows as it truly does attract a wide range of people- from experienced investors with already strong portfolios to fans of the show who are looking for to buy for the first time. Knight Knox International works hard to cater to every type of customer, championing regional locations guaranteed to offer great yields and high quality accommodation, but without the inaccessible price tags of many London and South East properties.
Two of the most popular British properties on offer were X1 Eastbank in Manchester and X1 the Studios in Liverpool. X1 Eastbank has a prime location within the up-and-coming Manchester suburbs of Ancoats and New Islington. With great transport links and thriving communities these areas were very popular with investors, especially as the close proximity to the city centre is not reflected in the price.
The Studios are a part of X1 the Quarter, a massive 550 unit development in a central Liverpool location- only five minutes from the marina. The entire project contains five buildings which are being released in separate phases. Now phases one and two- the Gallery and the Courtyard, are both fully sold out, with residents moving in to the Gallery. The Studios at X1 the Quarter contain 221 studios spread over 10 floors and are currently on track to being as successful as the first two buildings.
Knight Knox International was very pleased with the results of A Place in the Sun Live and is looking forward to the future shows. The great response to the new stand was also very encouraging and it will hopefully gain as much attention at this week’s Property Investor Show in London which Knight Knox is looking forward to attending.
