The initial piling work has commenced on the £58 million development, which will bring 199 premium apartments to the local rental market with a mixture of one, two and three bedroom units.
Residents will benefit from amenities including a gymnasium, bicycle storage, a concierge office and a communal garden. Secure parking is also available on selected apartments.
X1 Chatham Waters is part of a wider ongoing £650 million regeneration of the historic former Naval Dockyard in Chatham by Peel Land and Property. The plans will see the area revamped with the addition of retail, leisure and education facilities for residents to enjoy across the 26-acre site.
Andy Phillips, commercial director at Knight Knox, said: “We’re excited to see work starting at X1 Chatham Waters and look forward to seeing the development take shape over the coming months. This is our first large-scale residential project launched in the South East and we have been pleased by the positive reception so far.”
X1 has worked with DK-Architects to design the scheme, with construction being carried out by Forrest Construction.
Melissa Green, operations and regional director at X1, said: “The local area is perfect for young renters. The wider master plan will see a unique marina destination created, with tenants benefiting from the tranquillity of waterside living while also being within commuting distance of central London.”
X1 Chatham Waters is scheduled to complete in Q1 2020. For more information on this development, please click here.
